Dave "Kook" Kuckenbecker was a trumpet player in the seventies (1972-1977), also known as the "NO BOWL" years. This was so long ago that he rememebers when the talk of the band was how great Bill Cole was. Which was soon replaced by the Bissell enthusiasm. "Those were great times in the band and a crummy football team, until the James era of course. (Hey Fish, do you still remember the words commorating our 66-0 loss at Eugene. It was to the tune "Tea for Two" I think." Sorry for the digression but there are many who can relate, they just have to dig out their reading glass first."
Dave is sure that there are lots of interesting stories out there about him which he assure you are ALL entirely fabricated. In Dave's spare time he is a competative glider pilot and an ocean sail boat racer. And a serious racer at that. He has raced a 43 foot sailboat from San Francisco to Hawaii twice and won both times. Dave is called the "boat buster" by his sailing buddies
Dave joined the Board cause he believes in the cause and has been a Board Member several times throughout the past several years. Dave is currently HMBAA'a Vice- President.
