Varsity Alumni International Trip

Hello Alumni members!

Below is the promotional flier for the Varsity Alumni International Trip to Ireland in 2019! This tour encompasses most the southern region of the country including giving each of us the opportunity to do what else? KISS THE BLARNEY STONE (after we perform at the Blarney Castle of course!) The unique nature of our performance opportunities have always been an exciting component of our V-A tours. This trip offers a couple that are indeed especially unique. The town of Killarney hosts a July 4th tribute each year to commemorate Ireland’s longstanding relations with the USA. As part of the celebration they have a parade for which we will be the featured band! After the parade, we have been asked to perform in additional spots around the town as part of the day-long festivities.

Another performance that is completely new to any of our past V-A tours is that for the first time, we will actually be competing as part of the “South of Ireland Band Championships.” This will not be a field show competition but rather a “park and blow” competition where we’ll play all of our standards and will actually compete with ~30 bands from around the world for several different awards. The competition committee is extremely excited that we will be participating even though the majority of participants have historically been concerts bands. After we have participated, I think it is safe to say that the event will NEVER be the same!
