Meet the Husky Band Drum Majors!

Our 15th annual Husky Band Golf Tournament coming up on Sunday, August 12th! All proceeds from the event support our Drum Major Scholarship Fund and we have 3 amazing Husky Band leaders to support this year. You can read all about them below!

Meet the Drum Majors

Zachery Baisch

Zachery is from Seattle, Washington, and is a Law, Economics, and Public Policy major. He is entering his fifth year in the band and third as drum major, having spent the previous two years as a member of the Mellophone Section. Throughout his tenure in the band he has had the opportunity to travel to several historic Husky sporting events including the Women’s Basketball 2016 NCAA Final Four, as well as to the PAC-12 championship, and the 2016 NCAA Playoffs with the football team. Outside of the UW, Zachery has coached drum majors in several programs in the greater Seattle Area, including at Chief Sealth International High School, Interlake High School, the Seattle All-City Marching Band, and the Washington Drum Major/Drumline Academy. Zachery is also an active brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, a National Honorary Band Fraternity. Go Dawgs!

 

Nyles Green

Nyles is a senior majoring in Community, Environment, and Planning, with minors in Urban Ecological Design and Geography. The upcoming season will be Nyles’ fourth year with the band and first year as a drum major. Outside of school, Nyles will be working with the Seattle Department of Transportation as a Community Outreach Intern. A native of Portland, Oregon, Nyles enjoys hiking in the Pacific Northwest and exploring the city with friends. In his free time, Nyles likes to run, sketch, read, and roam around the city. He couldn’t be more excited for the first kickoff this fall!

 

 

Denali Cornwell

Denali is from Seattle, Washington, and will be entering his third year attending the University of Washington. He is planning on majoring in Computer Science and Software Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics. This will also be his third year as a member of Husky Band, and first year serving as a drum major, after two years playing snare drum in the Husky Drumline. Denali is also involved with teaching and mentoring drum majors and student leaders in high school music programs around the Puget Sound region. In his free time he likes to learn about and build or modify high performance cars, as well as advance his education and learn all that he can about computer science.
